Our work

In 2016 ZUUL created InKincardine as a tool to help the members of the community. Initially focused on dining, events and weather alerts (got to love Bruce County) it continues to be a platform to inform and enrich the community.

This tool is entirely funded by ZUUL as a side project, if you’re interested in donating or sponsoring, don’t hestiate to reach out to keith@zuul.ca.

Covid Absentee Tracker

What is it?

This tracker uses self-reported data to track absenteeism at Kincardine-area schools and daycares based on self-identified COVID-19 positive cases (from a positive result on a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) or a presumed positive due to symptoms being present but no test available); as well as household isolations due to a household member testing positive or being presumed positive.

Why create it?

The Ministry of Education will no longer be collecting COVID data from schools, as recent changes to PCR testing eligibility has changed resulting in the unavailability of accurate daycare and school cases.

There’s not a lot of good information out there to help parents make choices about whether or not to send their kids to schools or day care. For the staff at ZUUL, this whole pandemic we’ve been doing our best to manage risk. This tool, while not perfect, helps us manage the risks we’re exposing our kids to.
